Introducing the GV Collection

If you’ve opened a bottle of our 2015 Riesling or Pinot Gris recently, you may have noticed something different. Our wine labels have a new look.

Starting with our 2015 vintage, our Gibbston Valley estate range reflects a new label and name, the GV Collection. Rest assured, nothing about what’s inside the bottle has changed.

“We are very excited about the GV Collection. The packaging of the wine reflects their quality. They are clean, elegant wines made to a premium standard from a pioneer brand. They are small volume, artisanal collectibles,” said Gibbston Valley Chief Winemaker Christopher Keys.

Classically shaped from our select Gibbston and Bendigo vineyards, the wines are harmonious and elegant representations of our quality-focused and innovative spirit as pioneers of the Central Otago wine region.

“With this new design, we want to give information about the wine that can be easily used. We handpick and whole bunch press our whites – so we state that,” said Keys.

The concept of each wine being part of a collection also applies to the vineyards. Every label reflects the site or sites from which the fruit was grown and winemaking details for those of you interested in things like residual sugar and how the wine was fermented.

You’ll find these new labels on the aforementioned Riesling and Pinot Gris and as more of our 2015 and other future vintages are released.

“By the time the Pinot Noir (2015), Rose (2016) and Late Harvest (2015) roll out, we will have a complete representation of Central Otago’s finest. We are very proud of the GV Collection and hope you get to know and love these wines. I will be there to taste them with you during the year,” said Keys.
