As the first commercial vineyard in Central Otago, we are proud of the tradition of ‘firsts’
Gibbston Valley Wines has established: from the very first vines to be planted in the region
to the first New Zealand wine to sell at retail for over $1000 – a record made all the more
impressive by the quality of wines produced in this exceptional region.

Our wines have also been recognised around the country and across the world for creating,
and redefining the measure of New Zealand wines.

To date, Gibbston Valley Wines has won close to 300 national and international awards,
including the prestigious title of Champion Pinot Noir for the 2000 Reserve Pinot Noir at the
London International Wine Challenge, putting Gibbston Valley and the Central Otago region
on the map as the source of high quality boutique wines, and creating a worldwide reputation
for Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir.

Gibbston Valley Wines have also attracted the attention of leading wine writers and reviewers,
winning praise for the quality and originality of our boutique wines.
